Arlein E. Giese, 91, Merrill, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Arlein was born November 25, 1919 in Hamburg the daughter of Albert and Emma (Mueller) Kickbusch Sr. She and Harold Giese were united in marriage September 7, 1940 in Little Chicago, he preceded her in death. Arlein was a homemaker, but also worked on their dairy and ginseng farm. She enjoyed gardening, baking, animals, fishing and going to the cottage. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a member of the former Zion Ladies Aide.
Survivors include: son: Philip (Virginia) Giese, Daughter: Phyllis (James) Beilke, both of Merrill; Grandchildren: Michael (Patricia) Beilke, Merrill; Daniel ( Jennifer) Beilke, Blaine, MN; Victoria Giese, Eden Prairie, MN; Stephen (Jennifer) Giese, Brooklyn Park, MN; Kristine (Eder) Lopez, Madison; 3 great grandchildren; Mitchell, Kaitlyn and Marissa Beilke; Sister-in-law: Marion Kickbusch of Wausau, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, 3 brothers, William, Albert Jr. and Arthur Kickbusch, and 2 sisters Adehla Radunz, and Clara Marquardt. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, The Rev. Alden Beversdorf will officiate. Visitaion will be at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
