Alice ‘Joyce’ Jackson, age 94, of Merrill, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau. She was born on August 14, 1926 to the late Clarence and Mildred (Payne) Stacy in Crystal Falls, MI. Joyce married Robert Anthony Jackson on September 29, 1951 in Crystal Falls, MI. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 8, 2017.
Joyce was a social butterfly, which is why she loved her job of 35 years as a Home Health Aid CNA for Lincoln County Social Services; she was able to help others while keeping them company. Joyce was very involved with her church, Hillside Fellowship in Merrill, and looked forward to attending the Bible studies and church events. She had a strong faith in God and was an active member at Hillside Fellowship. Joyce not only called herself a Christian, but she walked the walk as well. She had a great love for people and would go the extra mile for them. Joyce loved chatting with her friends and fellow tenants at Jenny Towers in Merrill, where she had made many good friends. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Joyce is survived by her daughter: Roberta Lynn Jackson of Merrill, brother: William (Doris) Stacy of Crystal Falls, MI, nieces: Bonnie (Glen) Westin of Gladstone, MI, Lorna (John) Anderson of Crystal Falls, MI and Linda Gallop of Crystal Falls, MI, nephews: Jon (Jean) Makuck of Lena, MI, Doug (Janet) Stacy of Marquette, MI, Brad (Marjorie) Gustafson of Jackson, WI and Terry Gustafson of Sturgeon Bay, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert Jackson, brother: Allan Stacy and sisters: Marjorie Gustafson and Ruth Makuck.
The family of Joyce wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau for their care and compassion shown to Joyce, as well as her family. It was much appreciated and thoughtful.
